View Full Version : best protection for LCD ?
Hey all,
I saw a few posts about peoples LCD screens gettting cracked for no justified reason and I was wondering if having a cover/skin for the iPod will protect the LCD from any "accidental" cracking...(along with the scractches)
Which would be best to protect the LCD and whatever else?

wel if you have a case it would be ebst to buy screen protectors from the company that made the case more than likely. Also some people use PDA screen protector film

For full protection I'd go with Matias Armor. If you want to use the iPod while it's in the case then either the Contour Showcase or Agent18 would be good choices.

If you purchase the iSkin, it comes with a LCD protector. It may seem like its a cheap piece of plastic but its not and it does its job. I would not go anywhere without my LCD and the iPod protected. In my opinion the iSkin is one of the best cases out there in terms of looks and protection. It comes standard with the screen protector which fits sung under the iSkin for an easy installation.

an ishade always works
so what you guys are saying is that if i have the LCD covered then there is no reason it will break right.. unless I'm throwing the iPod around and such (I saw posts with the LCD cracking for no reason at all)
thanks again

Yea, I was playing with my iTrip at the time. Sorry for that. I hope no one went out and bought an iTrip hoping for an LCD protector.

I wouldn't say that. The simple PDA screen protectors (and similar screen protectors sold for the iPod) will not help to prevent the LCD screen from being cracked. They only provide scratch protection.
If you're really worried about cracking the LCD screen, you should purchase a hard case like the Contour Showcase, Matias iPod Armor, etc.

Exactly my thoughts, I have tested the impact pressure of blunt and sharp points directly onto the iShade (my friend had an extra) and they are very durable... I will post pictures of this process.
