Which one? Contour Showcase or Agent18?

i looked around but didnt find any posts that directly compared the showcase and agent18...im about to get a 4G 20GB ipod and want a good case, ive been looking around and narrowed it down to the agent18 and showcase. any opinions on which one i should get? help is appreciated, thanks.

Well, the Agent18 is more comparable to the i-see, but I'd go with the Agent18 anyway. I'm considering purchasing one for myself.

I received my showcase today and I am very pleased with it. I am not to familiar with the shield but from the looks of it probably does a really good job of keeping the case scratch free and doesn't give the ipod any extra bulk but it doesn't look like it will hold up to well or prevent the iPod from getting damaged if it falls. The showcase on the other hand adds a little bit more bulk to the iPod but I guarantee you this thing will not damage the ipod if it drops. It has more than enough protection and the rubber siding basically ensures that damage will be kept to a minimum or non existent level, if and when you drop your iPod. The belt clip is also an excellent addition. Basically it comes down to what you'll be using it for. I'll mainly be using my iPod at the gym and don't want it to fall off and get damaged so the showcase was the best choice.

thanks alot, i think im gonna go with the showcase because im scared if i dropped my ipod with the agent18 the case would break. if anyone else has info about either please still reply, id like to hear what you have to say. also, anyone know the cheapest legit place to get a showcase, ill probably get the black one because i heard the white one gets really dirty. thanks again.

Yeah if anyone has any other opinions on the agent case they should post it. I'm only going off of what I see in the pictures. It definetly doesn't look like it comes anywhere close to offering the protection that the showcase does. Some people may not need that though. If you always have it in your pocket and aren't really gonna do anything that would likely cuase it to fall then the agent case may be the better, and cheaper option. As for the price of the showcase I ended up buying it directly from their site which ended up costing about $37. Pretty expensive. You can check some of these sites. I'm sure there are better prices than that.

They both look good but the white rubber layer is prone to dirt and smudges.

my local apple store has showcases...apple stores should be supplied with em since they are sold on their site as well...their probably sold out...the best and fastest way to get the showcase would probably be at the apple store.

I have both - a black showcase which I bought previously (for $19.95 on Apple.com), and an Agent 18 which I just got in the mail ($24.96).

I'm keeping both. I like the Agent 18 because of it's low profile, translucent plastic and textured exterior, which makes scratches much less visible. It's also really easy to slip in and out of a pocket. This one will be my daily use case. But I also like the showcase for a little added protection when needed. It's quite a bit thicker, though, and also a bit longer than the agent 18. The clear plastic screen area on the agent 18 also seems a bit less prone to scratches than the plastic used in the showcase. No belt clip with the agent 18, but I wouldn't have used it anyway.

If I was able to see them both side by side prior to purchase, I would have just gotten the agent 18 because I'm willing to trade some protection for slimness, but both are excellent cases.
