U2 iPod Stuck

My U2 iPod froze in the middle of the song while I was listening to it in my car using the iTrip - it's just on now with no sound and the backlight on. This has never happened to me before even with my other 4g 20g so please help. How can I turn it off? What else can i do? I have had it for less than 30 days am I still able to exchange it at the apple store? Please advise.

My poor little iPod has been on and unresponsive since 9:09 am and going -- the battery life doesn't seem to by dying but the screen is warming up. ?????????

Try to reset the ipod by pressing the menu and the middle button for 10 seconds, that shoul work.
