www.epitonic.com has some pretty good tunes for free download. Most artists i havent heard of, but there is defo some good stuff

allofmp3.com.... not free, but CHEAP and LEGAL for all types of music... I've been using them for months and it's great

not mp3s, though. if you're on a mac, wiretap it.
you might also want to try mixtapes. i bought one of kanye songs, and they're kinda hit or miss. just google 'em

i use http://music.download.com just because I'm used to it...not the best, tho.
Check out iCompositions (http://www.icompositions.com). Its a site that hosts music that has been composed by Mac users of GarageBand (a free app that comes with all new Macs). Not specifically hip-hop, but lots of very good music here!
