IPOD 3G - Freezing while transfering

Hi everyone,

I'm having problems transfering songs from mp3s to my 3G IPOD. To start with, I've updated the Itunes version and I believe my firmware is up to date as well. I'm using Windows XP sp2 with all the security updates. I'm connecting my IPOD using a USB2 cable.

Now when I drag a playlist from my library to my IPOD, it seems as if 6 or 7 songs will transfer and then Itunes will just hang.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I've had this issue since day 1..

Is the ipod on auto or manual sync? Make sure that nothing else is connected via USB while the iPod is connected. Check Settings>About>Version>for the 3G it should be 2.2 - make sure it is.

Try a reinstall of the disk that came with it and a restore of the iPod as a last resort.
