Ok, I know ton's of people have had this problem but none of the few threads I looked at had resolutions that worked for me.
My iPod is 4G 15G 2.1, I run Windows XP (straight from the 02/03 CD) Home.
Now, All of a sudden my iPod won't be recognized on my computer. I re-installed. Still not working. When I plug it in all it does is charge up.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this ? I'd greatly appreciate it.

Have you tried re-booting your PC with the iPod still attached (cable or dock), try and force the PC to recognize it ???

The only other thing I could suggest would be to un-install everything related to the ipod from your PC, make sure your music is safe though (move it to another folder or something).
Uninstall everything, iTunes, updaters the lot (also delete any related folders from the Programs folder). Try connecting the iPod with no software installed, try a different port if you can, XP should still recognize it as a removable disk.
Download the latest iTunes and updater and start from scratch. Install iTunes connect your iPod and then run the updater. You may have tried this already, but there is not much else I can think of.
Did you install XP SP2 recently ?? if so, try disabling it's firewall and associated security stuff. Just a thought.
Connect something else to the port your using for the iPod, if you can, make sure it's still working alright.
