I was listening to music on my 4 day old ipod and then i shut it off, i came back an hour later and it wouldn't turn on, no matter what i did, i knew the battery was charged, the hold was off, and it wouldn't respond when i'd plug it into the AC or into my computer....i thought it was done for. But then i tried resetting it again, and i guess i must of done it wrong the first time because the second time it turned on. i'm so thankful. has this happened to anyone else/does it happen often? why does it happen?
Seems like it happens more with new iPods. Mine did it a lot the first few weeks; I was planning on returning it. Somehow about that same time it stopped hanging as much.
So maybe all you need to do is threaten it, and it'll wise up.;)

I have had to fix some of my friends 'Pods after they recieve small static shocks, which is pretty amusing. The metal backs are what do it. :P
I just opened my brand new iPod photo about 12 hours ago (slept afterwards, it was early in the morning when I opened it), and it froze on me... I had to restart it too :P I think ive had to restart it 2 times today tbh... It was scary the first time, lol :P

Mine did that today. I got soo scared when it happened. I mean I just reset it and then it worked but I didn't think of that in the first place. My heart was racing when it happened. My iPod is 5 days old and I was like nooooooo.

wow, looks like this is a pretty wide spread problem. maybe this is the ipods equivalent to a computer freezing...who knows? has apple adressed this?

I haven't heard anything about it. I will go look through Apple's site later and check it out. I will get back to you guys later.
