Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. I'm having problems with my install on a 2001 GTI with Single DIN Monsoon Stereo. When I try to play the music through my PIE cable and CD Changer interface, the volume on my 3g 40gb is extremely loud and distorted. The volume on the HU has to be at minimum and any bass is unintelligible. I'm using a cassette adapter at this point until I can resolve my problem...
I purchased a PIE cable, a Radio Shack audio gound and a power/audio belkin cable. I did the Cruze (http://www.cruze.org/pics/showdate.html?date=2004-03-13) mod on the Belkin, with the exception that I came out directly to RCA jacks instead of a headset jack. I then plugged the ground cable in, and finally plugged into the PIE cable. Power is y-jacked off of the back of the cigaratte adapter in my console. I've even purchased a second Belkin and re-done the Cruze mod thinking that my soldering skills weren't up to par.
This setup works perfectly in my Jeep Liberty, but not in my GTI. Is there power from the Monsoon? Anyone have any advise?
