Id like to be able to play my IPOD on my factory car stereo.
Whats the best way with quality to do this?
Ive heard not good things about the I-Trip device.
Anyone with experience here?

Try the gear section, and under that there is a car audio solutions section. iTrip is good for me.

It really depends on how well you hear or how picky you are about your audio. I tend to lean on the more picky side so I have mine installed with a Sik Imp that allows me the line out feature which uses a 1/8 headphone cable to run to the aux in of my stereo. In my opinion this give you the best option sound wise. Tape adapters work well but there is usually background tape noise you can hear at higher volumes. The iTrip would be my last resort as I have heard very few people who are happy with them. Hope this helps.

Anything that goes through an FM modulator is going to have poor sound quality. With that said I would recommend getting an adapter that plugs into the back of your stock deck using the cd changer port. I said this in another thread. ???I got one off www.mp3yourcar.com ??? it???s similar to the one BMW uses and the ice-link. I researched the Neo iON and found nothing but good things said about it. Best of all it costs less then the other units and the quality is excellent.???
Also take a look here

Hope that helps :)
PS: what kind of car do you have?

Not a car....A 2001 Dodge Ram pick up.
Using their stock CD/cassette deck.
Wonder if it has the rear RCA ports then?

It looks like Blitzsafe has an aux-in solution for you...

The BEST way would be to use a:
Dension IceLink (densionusa.com)
Neo Ion (mp3yourcar.com)
The Dension and Neo units run from the line out of the Ipod, charge the battery, pause and resume upon turning your vehicle on/off, and allow you to change tracks using your factory head unit.

The Neo Ion (mp3yourcar.com) will work and does not need RCA ports. It uses the cd changer port and I am 99% sure it will work with your truck. :p

the BEST again would be the Dension IceLink or the NeoIon next best would be aux input third would be cassette adapter(i use it i love it it works for me and its inexpensive) then you can do FM modulation which isnt worth the work IMO and youd be better off with the FM transmitter

I recommend on using the iTrip to listen to your iPod in your car. It is my favorite accessorry and it works like a charm.

I am on the picky side, rip my stuff at 384k VBR.
iTrip is really, really lo-fi; it's like a $1500 head unit, connecting a $500 iPod not to mention speakers, ampli, and then you put up with crackles, hisses, interference ? No, thank you.
I got an AUX card installed on my stock head, and then a jack all the way to an extra dock unit; all is commanded through the Apple remote; sound is awesome

I bought the iTrip Mini from Griffin this week and I wish now that I had not wasted that $40. I cannot find a station that is "clean" enough to be able to play all the way to and from work. I will probably end up selling the iTrip and go at it another route.

I have a BMW 325i with CD changer in trunk. can I still go with the aux adapter solution? If yes, could anyone please direct me to some threads or websites where I can find the parts needed and instructions for install. How complicated is it? Shall be the first DIY for BMW except changing bulbs :)

If you have a Japanese vehicle then this should be the ticket:
http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=711
It will do everything through your OEM stereo even show the track and title. You can hide your iPOD somewhere in your car and never have to take it out except to update it.

I finally found a local station that has no bleed when I am playing podcasts or music from my iPod over the radio via the iTrip Mini. It is crystal clear. I am starting to enjoy that iTrip that I was discouraged over earlier. :)

Yeah, I'd like to see just how ugly it displays track information.
OEM stereos weren't made to display text, nor were they made to navigate an iPod.
