Hi,

I'm trying to purchase a car mount for a 40 gig sized ipod that will hold it while it has a leather case case installed. I'm not concerned with being able to power the ipod. I just want the mount. I really think the cup holder solution is best for me. I read a review of the Belken cup holder product and it said that the ipod + case does not fit. I've seen another brand that is black with cushions on the side available from everythingipod.com but i can't tell from the picture if this product will fit the ipod + leather case. Can anyone owning this product let me know? Or, is there another product that fits ipod + leather case.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I use this (http://www.theclip.com/store/catalog/product_16234_Large_Gripmatic_PDA_Cradle.html) plus a vent mount (http://www.theclip.com/store/catalog/product_16152_Vent_Mount.html) (this came with the smaller one when I bought it originally for my iPod w/out a case).

There are other solutions as well, check out

Has anyone had any problems with the vent mounts? I would think that all the heat/cool air coming out of them would cause problems with the iPod.

Too much heat blowing on them in the winter, and the cool air in the summer causing condensation.

I was talking to a car audio guy and he mentioned that one of his customers ruined a GPS due to cold air blowing on it and causing condensation.
