Before I get my iPod photo I was wondering if anyone who had ordered their photo via the internet had found any dead pixels? I really don't want to have to mess around sending it back to Apple so I thought I'd check.

Thanx

If you're not going to mess with sending back to apple why start this topic?

If you are worried, just get your iPod from a store like the Apple store, Best Buy, etc. Exchanges are done right there if you have a problem with dead pixels, so you won't have to mess with sending it back through Apple.com's customer service.

I want to order from Apple because I'd like the free engraving.

Sorry - I should have mentioned that I live in the UK. We don't have many Apple stores near us, and the only one I know of doesn't have the photo yet.

I was just wondering whether anybody had dead pixels yet, but obviously some of you seem incapable of providing a straight answer without trying to bite my head off.

Well, I have a 40 GB, and it's perfect... I was really woried, not because it's common, just because I'd HATE it...

dead pixels are an unfortunate thing but there's really no way in preventing them 100% my powerbook has one and it made me really upset, but nothing I can do about it and now it doesn't bother me, it's just there.

Aww, I'm sorry... I didn't mean to come off as biting anyone's head off. If I did, I apologize. I was just trying to give you some other options that would let you easily exchange if you do indeed come across an iPod with a dead pixel. Anyway, good luck with your purchase. If you want the free engraving from Apple.com, I'd say go for it. I haven't heard anything about a particularly abundance of dead pixels in the new iPod photos.
