Problem at Formatting Ipod Screen

Hi everyone, i just bought the new ipod photo 60GB model, everything is fine, but during installation, the ipod takes forever to format? any idea how to get past this stage? ive read somewhere it only takes 3-4 minutes, but its been hours now...thanks!

I think this is just the stage where it initialises the photos for view on the iPod photo ... is this the part you're up to?

it was at the part where it was recognizing the ipod, then it said i had to format the ipod, so i click format, and then the status bar fills up, then restarts...its been like this for a while

Mine took quite awhile to install as well, but not hours. Maybe 15 minutes to install, recognize and format, then 1.5 hrs to sync 7500 photos

i just bought a new usb 2.0 card today, and it still dosen't go past the "format the ipod" screen. its the status bar that says "waiting for the ipod" that looks like its going to finish then it restarts...argh this is frustrating

i think i found the problem, i think its this custom built computer i made...because i tried it on my sisters hp computer and it works...so ill try to figure out why this is happening and post a FAQ or something to help those who have the same problem as myself
