Hi All,
First time posting, and having spent over 2 days learning all about iPODs on these forums, thought I'd submit a post, as I'm still a bit confused.

Firstly, I own a Nissan Skyline R33 GTST. I know that these are rare in the states, but as I live in Australia, its not so bad, and they're quite readily available. Anyway, I've had my car broken into twice now, along with my expensive HU stolen.

I've decided to revery back to my OEM unit, however, wish to connect my iPOD to it. But I prefer not to go down the FM transmitter, nor the cassette deck path.

I would really want to use the line-out option, of the iPOD, and connect it to my CD stacker input. The only thing, is I'm don't know what kind of plug I need to get this working.

I have attached a photo of the back of my deck. The unit on the right, shows the cassette player, the left a single din CD player, that from the looks of the plug, is the same as a stacker. People have told me, that the deck is similar to a Clarion, or Sony, but cannot be sure. Can somebody have a look at the photo and advise?

What I guess I am hoping for is a home made Ice-Link, that is, some how hack a wire, to change it from a CD stacker input, to a RCA input, and plug my iPOD as an aux.

The only thing is, nobody on these forums has done it for a car like mine, so would like to know what your thoughts are.

Thanks heaps for your help

Daryl

Have you tried searching for the stereo model and name and rca adapter on the net??

Doing the same for my car shows quite a lot of sites selling rc input cables that go into the cd changer port.

Is it possible to get the ice link for your car?? Would be a good solution to keep your car safe cos you can tuck the pod away somewhere and out of view so noone brakes in again. Thats the disadvantage of having the cradel out on display. Too many people will rape your car even if they see a mount or cradel on the dash etc. Theiving #######s!

Man, I WANT you're car.....actually, since it's not a GT-R, it's ok, but if it was a GT-R V-spec, then I wouldn't help you ;)

I think all nissan CD players are the same, so you'd just need to get the nissan-specific AUX-in adapter for you're model year.

Good luck

Thanks Drew,

Well, you should come down to Aus, cos my cars are common as! :D But thanks, yeah its nice, but given the recent break ins, I am really tempted in just selling it.

But to be honest with you, I'm not entirely convinced that they're the same, as my friend owns a silvia and they're different.

But I have noticed, that its just a 8 pin input, identical to alot of the aftermarket HU. Sony/ Panasonic etc.

Arent these all kinda generic. I mean, its just 8 common pins right??
