I have one more song in my itunes library than i do on my ipod. There's one file that refuses to sync to my ipod...still it plays fine through itunes...not a big problem, but kinda annoying.
any ideas?

hi dazc, welcome to ipodlounge! :)
are you sure the file is an mp3 or aac file? meaning, is it one of the file types supported by the ipod. as far as i know ogg vorbis or wma files don?t sync. i have never used itunes however, so i don?t know if those files get transferred and then don?t work, or if they don?t get transferred at all.

It depends too on how your iPod is set to be updated. Automatically? If so, and the song isn't loading onto your iPod, then perhaps the iPod has run out of room? If that's not the case then the file might be, as mrm suggested, an unsupported type, but the iPod will play most anything that iTunes plays, so that's not likely. What might be likely is that te file is corrupted, or a downloaded file, or that your iPod's database file is corrupted.
You can do a software restore to fix the iPod's database file (this will delete everything on the iPod).
I'm not sure you can do anything about the file being corrupted except re-ripping it.
