What about uisng olive oil to clean your ears? (seriously - do a search for ["olive oil" "ear wax"] on google) ...

I found that when I use olive oil, it not only keep my ears clean, but also leaves the remaining wax nice and soft (oily, go figure) ... lol. Might sound gross but it helps with canalphones (comfort and getting a good seal) ... Worth a shot ... ;)
