ive been bringing my ipod inside every night at 10-11 because i forget about it because i dont know if im going to be going out again (if i dont go anywhere after dark) so to avoid it breaking from being too cold i bring it inside does anyone know of a way to keep the ipod inside the car without it freezing/breaking or will it even break at cold temperatures?

Intresting question... would be god to know the answer of that.
Been thinking about it a bit because when I got my ipod mini delivered the delivery guy had to leave it hiden outside.... when I opened the package it was freezing! So cold to touch, but worked straight out the box with no probs... just misty where I'd been touching it with my hot eager hands. Also I got it from the UK apple website so the thing traveled by airmail , and I doubt thats very warm high in the air on transit, but who knows.
Maybe its like some other things that don't like being stated from cold and run at full capacity traight away?!?!?
I'd like to do the dension ice link plus install and put the ipod descreatly somewhere so I can leave it in the car over night. cold will be a factor.

do you leave the ipod in the car when you get out? probably not, and when you drive in the cold do you not use the heat? probably so. if you look at the lcd of the ipod and it appears discolored that means it's getting too cold for the ipod.

i leave the ipod connected with the clip all day(so yes i leave it in the car,its hidden) and wrap my cassette adapter cable around the clip part to avoid all the extra wires around the dash and i leave it in the car all day (during school and the afternoon so i dont need to bring it in an out every time i go out somewhere) then if i get home at say 9 and i know im probably not going out again i bring it in with me but if i come home from school and i dont go anywhere it is just sitting there because i havent been out to the car
its not that cold yet but soon it will be in the negative numbers during the night :( and i dont wanna bet 250bucks that it wont break

wonder why there is a maximum altitude...guess that means that astronaughts cant listen to their tunes in space
