Does anyone here listen to their iPod while riding a motorcycle or scooter? I am finding that it does not power my helmet speakers so I am tempted to just ride with one of my canal earphones. I'm looking for other options. Any suggestions?

I'm in Md.(easternshore) also and just ride with one earbud in, as it is the law here.

I have been known to wear headphones on the odd occasion, but I prefer to have my wits about me when riding. It takes a bit more oncentration than driving a car. Especially when filtering.

What you want to do is cut out the wind noise with an IEM. Shures and UE work quite well (if you wear the UE's in the oposite ears) also JVC marshamallows are alright as they are small.

I don't recomend it though, Using one ear is good advice, even better is not bother. You have no secondary protection on a bike like you do in a car, so if you crash or someone hits you, it's going to hurt, anything you can do to avoid that is a must.

I would look at a speaker type of set up there are enough dummies on the road that makes a scooter or MC challenging enough without taking away from being able to hear what is going on around you. there are a few "systems" out there but I'm sure you could set-up something on the cheap side that will do the job. How good do you need the sound to be when you are driving around?

I have used many different type of ear buds while riding my motorcycle. Currently I'm using the monster beats which do a great job. They help me stay focused while lane splitting and drown out wind noise.

I'd suggest earphones with noise canceling.
