I am making a list of the things for my parents to get me for christmas to complete my ipod install into my 01 tacoma.

I have in mind the belkin car kit for charging and using the lineout with either a fm modulator or the TOY-AUX adapter.(havnt decided which route)
the belkin kit is appealing because the line out is on the part that plubs into the cig lighter thus leaving me with only one cable comeing from the ipod for charging and line out.
however, the review of the belkin kit is the only one that mentions ground loop in the review so is it more suceptable to ground loop than say the monster gables ULPC?
if so, then I can sacrifice the convenience of only one wire to avoid this problem....

thanks

I have a Belkin Auto Kit in my car with the factory stereo and a PIE module, I haven't noticed any ground loop problems. I did connect my iPod to an Alpine headunit in my previous car and in that I did notice a little bit of ground loop interference. I bought a Radioshack ground loop isolator and it fixed the problem immediately.

I recently purchased a 2005 Honda Accord and had a Soundgate aux adapter installed in the CD changer input on my stock stereo. I actualy purchased a GLI (ground loop inverter) from radio shack, but the installer (Al & Ed's) insisted that I wouldn't need it with the Monster cable I would be using. When I picked up the car, everything sounded great, but last night I noticed a hissing and popping noise. This morning it was even more pronounced. I was (and am) ####ed because I'm positive this is ground loop noise. With some fiddling around (turning the car on and off, plugging and unplugging the line into the iPod), I was finally able to get rid of it. I can't decide whether to hassle with taking it back to have them put in the GLI or not. I would definitely recommend getting on installed whether you go with the Belkin or not.

I've got the ground loop problem, but haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. :(

just eliminate the source of the problem. Ground all you're audio stuff (radio, ipod charger, aux adapter) to one solid ground point. Then no more problems.

What do you mean ground the aux adapter?

Thanks.
