Hi, I'm new to this forum i just recently purchased my 4G 20 gig Ipod. I Have been doing a lot of reading and research on an in car solution and i've basically been seeing that the Neo Ion and the Icelink are the better buys. The question i have is what are the ups and downs of each because there is a big price difference. Also for a side fact the car it will be going in is a 2005 toyota rav4. It already has a stock stereo with cd so i'm guessing the connections will be fine. And also i had a side question about that, once i install the ice link or the neo ion will i still be able to play cds.

Thanks a lot for your help.
:D

P.S. whats the problem i've been hearing about the Neo ion about not being able to use the stereo and steering wheel controls to the fullest. for example someone had mentioned that at times seeking for songs messes up.

I haven't heard to much about the neo since it's a relatively new product and the IceLink has been available for a longer period of time. You won't loose the ability to play CDs on the headunit with either unit.

I've been looking into the Ice Link and probably getting it so heres what I know... They ability to play cds is only if you have a cd changer. The kit plugs into the stock stereo at the cd changer input output socket. If like me you have a cd changer you will have to unplug it to be able to plug the kit in its place. Bye bye cds..... but hello ipod.

Don't know about the Neo ion problem you are talking about. However, the ice link in its old version used to only give you control from the stereo for play/pause, fast forward, rewind and skiping tracks back and forward. Who wants to skip through 40 or even 4 gig of tracks!! The newly release Ice>Link:Plus gives you muchmuch more control. It maps the cd changer controls of buttons 1-5 on the stereo to playlists.... you can do playlist and album searches etc. Much much better

Hope that healps a bit

Neo purchases directly from Dension. Basically the same kit, but slightly different parts. You will not receive the Active Cradle with Neo kit.

I wonder about that.

Dension doesn't list any GM/Chevrolet vehicle as being compatible with their icelink plus.

yet Neo Ion lists many GM/Chevy vehicles that work with it.

One would think that if the Neo Ion is the same product from Dension then Dension would have something that worked with Chevy/GM.
