All over, I keep seeing people using their head unit w/ a cd changer in order to play the iPod directly through their cars. They just "disconnect" the cd changer from the headunit and use something like DENSION ICELINK to link the ipod. Now, I have a 2002 Nissan Xterra and a stock head unit. The head unit is a double din head unit, w/ a built in 6 cd changer. Is there any way possible to use this setup w/ a direct connection to the ipod? Not just w/ the ICELINK, but w/ anything. I don't want to have to get a whole new head unit, but I also hate my FM transmitter, and only want a direct connection. I am sorry if I sound like a broken record, but can use my stock head unit w/ its changer to connect my ipod. In alot of the advertisements, they say, "Now just select the AUX/CD (CD CHANGER) option, and this will control your ipod instead of your cd player." Not really sure why my setup wouldnt work, but I am a rookie, you guys know...
SO ANYONE OUT THERE WITH A NISSAN XTERRA AND IPOD????

Soundgate (http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=610) has a module that can give you an auxilliary input (a pair of female RCAs). Just read the description carefully before ordering.

Thanks alot for the reply. I was actually looking at that, and was wondering if it would work. WIth the SoundGate model, what exactly do you mean by carefully, is there something I am missing? Thanks again

Just that line in red that reads "not compatible with any Nissan or Inifiniti radio with the SAT button", that's all.

What exactly is the SAT button? So I guess your telling me that the SoundGate Option is out of the picture....

SAT is for satellite radio, if you have this option/button don't get the Soundgate.

No, I do not have SAT, satellite radio, in my Xterra. So I guess it's OK to have... Yet, where do you see this stuff on the Soundgate website... All I see when I go there is a list of about 3 different Nissan/Infiniti, yet non of them are clickable links. I hate to be asking, but do you mind giving me the link to that page? Thanks again...

See my first reply to you, the word Soundgate has been underlined meaning it is a link to another (Discountstereo.com) website.
Many times, manufacturers will update their website only after the product has been released to retailers, don't ask me why.
