I just got my 4g 20 gig ipod, planing to use it on long trips. This was after my mpio fl100, cough huge pos cough, died for no reason (no factory reset, or support for that matter).

Anyways when I hook my ipod up to my car stereo through an AUX cable that came with my pioneer when i bought it from a friend, it works for a little while, then the car stereo shuts off. I used my mpio for a year with no problems. My ipod just kills the stereo, sometimes it shuts off completely, sometimes the display freezes, and it wont work again until I pull the fuse for the stereo.

Anybody have any clues?

I have never heard of this problem - quick search on the internet for CDRB-10 problems and this was the first result - click here (http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=13458)

If that doesn't work:
Connect a different device in the same way and see what happens - Pocket PC or something like that and play an MP3 through it for a while and make sure nothing happened when your "cough huge pos cough" died...

Yea I know how to activate the aux source, and used my MPIO for a couple months with it. Its just the ipod thats doing something wierd.

I'm not getting "snippy" I just went on to explain that I tried your two suggestions and results were still the same. :p Thanks for the help though.

It sounds like the lineout is overdriving the stereo, check if the same problem occurs using the earplug out. It that clears the problem, you may need to use a belkin autokit with the adjustable amp on it

I think I am using the earplug out, I dont seem to have a lineout. I keep forgeting to write down what model the deck is, but I'm pretty sure its a pioneer DEH-P8200R with an input cable, for use with like a Dvd player.
