Why call it iPod Photo

I think iPod Color would have been better.
People at first would think it has a Camera in it.

Interesting point, although it wasn't my impression when I first saw it...

I think that calling the iPod Photo makes sense because it can store and display photos. Calling it the iPod Colour wouldn't really differentiate it from the rest of the iPod family (it would imply that all you get is a colour screen).

But I guess that perception does show how odd our society is getting with embedded cameras in things... Maybe I'm out of step with the world but I've never really seen the point.

iPod color might come off as a regular iPod that comes in different colors. I think iPod photo is just fine. ;)

iPod All Purpose could also have been appropriate, but iPP is the best.

It's marketing.

A lot of people wouldn't be able to justify spending an extra $100 to get a color screen. They decided to name it by what it does and not what it is.

I mean they could have done the "Color" the say way they did the "mini" but i still like the photo more.
