I just bought a 1963 Chrysler 300. Beautiful car bought standard radio back then was AM only. I'd like to hook up an IPod but can't find anything that transmits to AM. Looked at the possibility of adding a docking station to the car somehow but not sure how to go about it. I don't want to cut any holes into the car. Any ideas?

I read an article a while back about a man in Japan who refurbished antique radios and sold them with iPods for the "antique" warm sound.

With that said, I looked on yahoo under "iPod AM transmitter" and Belkin popped up with their "Tunecast II" being mentioned sometimes FM and sometimes AM/FM. I would e-mail Belkin for a confirmation of weather their products do AM or not before a purchase.

I hope you have better luck than I did with my GTO. To much rumbling and iPod freezing...................

trip'n, I have a similar situation. I have a 1967 Chevelle Malibu with a stock AM radio. I also wanted to have tunes while maintaining the stock look. Originally I was going to install a CD player under the dash, but that looked awful so I trashed the idea. Then I decided that the iPod was the answer. What I did was get a small amp (MTX RT202 at Circuit City for about $100). I installed this in the trunk, then ran a long RCA cable under the carpet and had it come out under the dash. I also installed a pair of 6x9 Polk Audio speakers in the package tray. I got a cable from Radioshack that plugs into the headphone jack of the iPod and has RCA out ends. Using a male-to-male connector, I hooked this cable up to the long one from the amp and....there was music!!! You can get a small cell phone holder to mount under the dash to hold the iPod, or just let is sit on the seat next to you. The volume control on the iPod lets you adjust the volume. The only trick in this set up is you need to adjust the gain level on the amp so as not to get distortion. I know that there has been lots of talk about the sound quality out of the headphone jack, but my sound is awesome. This set up will not work with the line out from a dock or Belkin unit, because you will have no volume control. I also hooked up the stock AM radio to the small speaker under the dash so I can have that old-timey sound if I so desire. This was cheap (relatively), sounds great, and best of all, the car looks stock!
