from computer to ipod

I have windows 98, and i also have ephpod. But my problem is that i have old songs on my ipod that i want to get rid of, but i dont know how. I want to delete these songs, and add the ones from my computer. I have no idea how to do this. Help would be greatly appreciated. Also, is there any way i could use itunes for windows 98se?
