I just got my 20GB iPod a few days ago. It sounds great but now I want to play this thing in my car. I have heard of great products like "iTrip" and such that plays through the FM reciever in the car.

I want to try to get a little better sound quality (if at all possible) by connecting it to the car stereo.

Here is my current idea and I was wondering if it sounds like a good setup and if anyone else has any better ideas.

Im going to get a good quality "Y" cable that splits into a red and white RCA. This will blug into the back of my head unit and the cable then will travel into my glove box next to it. I will connect the headphone like part at the end of the Y cable into the "line out" part of my iPod Dock because I hear that sounds better than plugging it into the headphone jack of the iPod. I will also consider buying a car charger for the iPod dock so I don't drain all my iPod battery.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please drop them :)

Thanks

^^^ Um, I think he did.

Anyway, yuiol you didn't specify what car and headunit you have (stock or aftermarket). Either way, you're going to end up with a 1/8" jack, kill two birds with one stone and buy yourself either a Belkin Auto Kit, SiK Imp or Monster Cable iCharger. All three car chargers have a line level input and connects to your iPod through its dock connector.
