I was talking to someone a little while ago who works for Wacom, and he was telling me how the "next big thing" in consumer electronics such as the iPod is a thing dubbed "organic memory". Basically this means that through using organic strands and genetics, memory and capacity in portable devices like the iPod will simply go through the roof. Think being able to store a terabyte in a grain of sand. This is all quite a long way off though, but the industry will get to this stage within the next 5-6 years and the technology will become readily available in the next 10-12 years (assuming all goes to current projections from the people who are working on developing "organic memory" technology).
What do you guys think? As I said, this info was told to me from someone else, but I think it's very interesting. When this "organic memory" technology becomes available, it will make everything on the market today completely obsolete... :D
