I just got the Grado SR-60 for my birthday and im pretty happy with how they sound. The only thing I don't like is the earpads they come with. They're cheap scratcy foam. They itch my ears a lot. Does anyone know of any replacement earpads for them that would be more comfortable?

I happen to know you can get several different types for them, but I don't happen to know where from. I suggest you check out http://www.head-fi.org and search for grado ear pads - there will certainly be info about it there.

The SR-80 on up comes with the bowl pads. These are a little bit more comfortable, but some people complain that they're a bit on the bright side and don't have enough bass. Grado purists prefer the "flat pads" that all Grados used to ship with. They do give a little bit more bass and probably provide the best sound overall.
You can buy the bowls and flats from Todd the Vinyl Junkie (www.ttvj.com). I believe he's the only one that sells the flats. They are $30 and the bowls are $15.
Before Todd was selling the flats, a guy over on head-fi named vwap came up with a way to mimic the flats by modding Sennheiser 414 pads. They are a little cheaper, I think. Here's the link: http://www.vwap.net/pads/vwappads.html

Are those Senn 414 modded pads softer? The flat pads are ok, I just dont like the material.

The flat pads and bowl pads are firmer than the softies that come on the SR-60. They are higher quality material, too. I can't say anything about the vwap pads, as I've never seen them.
