My wish in the next firmware revision is to include "delete on the fly"

I know many of you would benefit from this feature. Especially those of you with larger pods. Think about it, not all rips are perfect, your transfering over large amounts of music. As you listen to your play lists you notice a song is bad quality, you don't like the song or it has blips and error noises in it. Unless you write it down at the time, your not going to remember to delete the song next time you are at your computer.

Please release 'delete on the fly" in the next firmware revision.

Would anyone else find this feature useful?

Sounds like a great idea to me.

I'd prefer something that flags or marks a song instead of deleting it outright.. that way when i sync it back to iTunes it'll serve as a reminder.. could be to delete that song, re-rip it, fix tags or whatever.

Better yet if different flag types could be set on the iPod itself.

I like both of these ideas Many times I've wanted to delete a duplicate and countless times I've wanted to flag a file so I can fix the tags.

Yes!! Flag-on-the-fly is genius. I keep thinking my library is perfect, only to be rudely awakened from the dream by a mistagged file.

So lets do something about this.

Who do we forward this topic to, for it to be recognize by the Apple Programming Team?

Can someone forward this on to Apple?

I've been marking bad rips with a one-star rating. But as I understand it, on the peecee platform, that info doesn't get back to the PC. Maybe you Mac users out there have a way to do this with iTunes??

The star ratings don't make it back to the PC jukebox? That sux. I've been using the one-star rating too for marking tracks I wanted to delete. A great tool. Now I can listen to an entire album, mark the tracks I don't really care for by rating them 1-star, and clean them off my hard drive (and my iPod).

Here's hoping you Windows users out there get to share in the love and joy that is iTunes soon.
