after some extensive research, I've decided to order the Mareware Sportsuit Convertible case for my wife's mini. She needs something that she can use at the gym, take on the road .. also it seems like it may protect the ipod for those accidental drops.

Amazon has it for $26.88

To owners of this case .. how do you like it? It looks a bit bulky in the photos. Post some pics if you have any .. tnx

hey, i have a sportsuit convertible for my 3g ipod, and it's awesome.
i've been jogging with it and have dropped my ipod on several occasions, and it's still working.

i figured i didnt' care how bulky it looked after i dropped it for the first time. and then second and third.

now, i'm gonna buy a Lajo oxo3, just to have a change in appearance, for when i know i'm gonna keep it in my pocket.

how does your wife like the case?

heya .. i got the marware case and wasn't that impressed.

The rubber on the sides looked a bit defective and the plastic covering the screen was a pain to line up. The front cover and velcro was a little too much work to get on and off. Plus the armband wasn't really that comfortable because of the velcro fastener rubbing against your arm. I liked the little pocket for earphones though.
I probably sound lazy or something with my dislikes, but for the money, it should just line up without squeezing it in and moving it around.

I ended up getting the iSee mini clear plastic case. That seems like it'll protect it if she drops it. I found some $4.99 cigarette cases made from all different types of material (leather, vinyl, cloth) that look really cool to transport the ipod and earphones. the top shuts tight with a magnetic button. I'll probably end up using one of those making my own case with a little foam rubber to keep it secure. Who knows, maybe I'll even sell them on ebay!

hey, let me know if you case is any good!

i am still using my marware, mine doesn't bother me that much.

I tried making a case for my Handspring Visor once, the results were so-so.
I'm just investing in a portable pair of speakers now, i think virgin electronic BoomTubes, www.virginelectronics.com

let me know if you have any pics or have found another case!

www.soul-kitchen.org for some good cookin'

heya funk .. I had received the iSee Contour case but returned it because of a scratch right above the click wheel hole. I exchanged it for another and sure enough, the same scratch was on that one (defective batch?). Seems like a decent case, but I couldn't deal with a very noticable scratch.
I decided to go with a lesser known case never discussed in this forum, the Pacific Design flip case. Since it's for my wife, the design fits her great .. very stylish, well made, fairly protective and it doesn't kill you wallet. I'll try to post some pics later, but you can check it out here:

although the tangerine color is more of a burnt orange/brownish color, it's actually something I really like and I think she will love.
good luck .. peace

The marware case I bought barely fits the U2 version, its impossible to get the wheel lined up. To top it off, the plastic scratches the hell out of the black cover. I'm looking for a replacement.

yieah, that's what made me mad when i first bought it.

What happens is that dust or dirt gets stuck between the case and the ipod, an d it scratches the surface.

NOW, i only keep using it cuz i've dropped my ipod MANY times, and it always has held up.

so that's the good stuff.

style wise, i am looking for somethin' sleeker, and i'm askin' for a Lajo xskn3, just for fun.

just for when i'm not joggin', etc.

have you seen the agent18 case?

it looks great!
