I just purchased an iPod Photo, btw: I really LOVE it! :) , and use it with iTunes 4.7 and Photoshop Elements 3.0, on a Windows PC running Windows XP.

Problem: When pic collections appear on my iPod, irregardless of how they were organzied (or re-ordered) in a Photoshop Elements "Collection", the pics (on my iPod) ALWAYS appear displayed in order of 'oldest to 'most recent' creation date.

I'm also aware that Photoshop Elements includes an option which allows you to re-order the pics in a Photoshop Elements "Collection" from 'oldest to newest' creation date', and made certain this option was not selected.

No matter how I re-arrange the picture order of pics in a Photoshop Elements pic "Collection", when transfered to my iPod Photo unit, the pics always continue to appear in order of: 'oldest to newest'.

I had thought that when you change the picture order of a Photoshop Elements "Collection", that these pics would be displayed (on the iPod) would subsequently appear in that SAME order as well. Anyone else experience 'picture display' order problems on their iPod Photo?

Could I be doing something wrong? How can change the picture display order on my iPod?

Thanks in advance for all help and assistance.

Scotty

iPulse,

Agreed. I too would have EXPECTED one should be able to 'at least' be able to get pictures to display (on the iPod) in ALPHABETCIAL order (by name), but I'm not even able to accomplish THAT!

Does iPod Photo really only allow you to view pics in order of it's 'creation' date?

Are there ANY iPod Photo owners out there that are experiencing the same pics viewing limitations on their iPod Photo units, or is it just me?

iPod Photo Owners: Please HELP!

Have you tried deleting the iPhoto cache on your computer. I renamed some directories, but it still listed them in the same old order (but with new names). Then I deleted the cache, and let it rebuild itself. Took ages, but everything's in order.

Hi bluejacket and other iPod Photo owners,

I'm on a PC (Windows XP) running Photoshop Elements, rather than a Mac (iPhoto). Can somebody tell me the procedure for deleting the picture (PhotoShop Elements or iTunes?) CACHE on a Windows PC? Thanks.

Sorry, I meant iPod photo.

Try searching for iPod Photo Cache on your PC. I just use the synchronise with "My Pictures" feature, and within that folder there's a huge subfolder called iPod Photo Cache. It's created the first time you synch (when it takes FOREVER, saying it's optimising the photos) and then just updated after that.

The only way I have been able to order the photos is in the iPhoto albums that I have created.

Ok. There was a much easier solution. Go to the iPod photo Options display, select the photo tab. There should be a list of all the photo directories. Drag them and drop them to reorder them. Easy peasy.
