Ok... i've meen thinking of what case to get to protect my precious iPod that should be here for Christmas... so im putting together a little wich list.. and I just can't decide what to get...

The Two initial options that i came to were the Countour ShowCase or the iSkin eVo 2 Arctic, because i still want it to maintain the white appearance... But your suggestions and votes would really be a big help... and if anyone actually has a ContourShowCase could you PLEASE post some pics... I was wondering how big it is and stuff...

Thanks ahead! :D

I don't have any pics but I did purchase the Contour case in white recently and I love it better than the iSkin case I have. The Contour case is a hard case that protects the iPod better and is easy to slip in and out of my jeans pocket. The iSkin picks up a lot of lint very easily and is hard to keep lint free. Out of the two I will have to vote for the Contour case.

Ok... lol... im already convinced, see i like the fact that you actually have used an iSkin so ok, sounds good. I got one more question though... Does the case make the iPod very much thicker? Cuz the Skin just seemed to be nice and thin and not make it too much bigger.. and i was just wondering in the Contour Case is very thick? Oh and does the latch thing on the side stick out too much? Cuz i wanna keep it slim...
Oh, one last thing.. do you happen to know a good place online to but one from... cuz on Amazon they only got it in Black... Im looking for white

Otherwise thank A LOT for your reply!

The latch lays flat against the case and it is not very thick. It adds a little bulk but not a lot. I like the security it gives and it's much easier to put in your pocket and take out. The iSkin case is harder to remove and take out. I wear jeans often and the rubber case is hard to take out of my pocket. Only the sides of the Contour case are rubber but don't interfere with the ease of removing it from my pocket. Also, you don't have to remove the case to charge it unless you want to put it in the dock.

I have a white Showcase. It's about 0.9 inches thick, slightly longer, and slightly wider due to its clip. There is no hinge; the "spine" I guess you could call it, of the case is rubber and does not protrude from the side. The clip is hard plasticand has rounded edges all around. It has never gotten caught going into my pocket. Smart design. The rubber does not pick up lint or dust.

The front of the case allows easy access to the click wheel; the clear plastic has a nice bevel so that it does not cause any discomfort. I love the way the iPod fits inside. Cushioned inside by foam rubber pads on all sides, it feels very solid overall. I have not dropped it yet, but I'm not worried for when I do.

I have found a few downfalls, though they are minor. I carry it in my [empty] pocket with the earbuds wrapped up around the case. I believe the hard plastic of the earbuds has been scuffing up the front window when, say, the ipod & earbuds get smooshed in my pocket. It doesn't obscure the view of the screen much, but they're visible enough to remind you of their presence. They don't clean off with rubbing alcohol, though that works great for finger smudges/oils. The other problem is that the white Showcase can get quite dirty. Soapy water or rubbing alcohol has helped somewhat, but it seems it will never be like new.

I still feel I have the best protection for my ipod, because despite the cosmetic blemishes the showcase receives from normal use, you can open it up and pull out a practically brand-new looking iPod.

Do a Google (or Froogle) search for Contour Showcase and you'll turn up some online vendors that sell it. I bought mine online from the Apple Store.
