Well... first of all i would suggest you check out the case reviews at the ipodlounge website. I would suggest the iSkin eVo 2 (4G iPods) I haven't used one myself but they look really good.. And like i said read some reviews. You might alos wanna check out the "Speck" and Lajo skins. Good Luck!

I like my new PodSleevz - http://www.radtech.us/Products/Podsleevz.aspx
It's soft, not a solid rubber skin that I would be afraid about trapping grit. And it protects the scrollwheel--you can use the controls (3G any current iPod model) just fine through the "thin" part of the case. And your iPod won't fall out--it's a tight fit, meant to stay on--but not hard to get off if you want to use the dock.

i'd recommend an iskin evo2. i had an evo on my 3rd gen, and when i sold it, i immediately bought an evo2 for my 4th gen.

I'm also looking for a skin for my 3G. I know that the iSkin evo says that you can use the iTrip with it, but the pictures look a bit sketchy. Do you guys know if it really works?
