I ordered an Ipod (5G) Photo 40GB/60GB Black Skin from Vinko's Treasures (http://stores.ebay.com/Vinkos-Treasures) yesterday after an exhaustive search for some type of skin to protect my new toy. The skin comes in five colors (white, blue, pink, green and black) and is definitely priced right, ensuring my "take a look" approach is not an expensive one. It also comes with a hard LCD protector, belt clip and wrist strap. I should have it next week and will post pictures and a review. I also ordered some click wheel and screen shields. I have not been a big fan of hard LCD protectors in the past (like Lajo's) as I have found they distort the display. I am especially sensitive to this now, as I really do not want to impair the beauty of the new color LCD, so I am hoping the stick on wrap type shield meets my expectations.
In terms of my experience with Vinko thus far, the customer service has been superb. I can't say enough. They reply to emails instantly (HK Time) and in my case, they were nice enough to question my first order (skin and tattoo) and suggested a better alternative (LCD and Wheel shield), which I took them up on. They also refunded the difference in a timely fashion.
I realize the new 5G's are just out and companies like iSkin and Lajo will scramble to come through, but I just couldn't wait. The only thing that I will miss with this skin and my prior 3G skins, is the lack of a docking solution. I am coming from a Lajo Flip and would love another for my 5G, but I have lost patience with Lajo's website and poor method of communication. I am still waiting on a $43 refund for an item that was back ordered and was actually not in production and was not advertised as so. I cancelled the order the day after I ordered it. Anyway, sorry to rant, the intent of this post is to let you know of this product and that I will post a review when I get it.
