Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. I plan on purchasing an iPod Photo (60 GB) unit and want to run it on the SAME computer (with iTunes) that my other iPod (4g (40GB) is running on. I know that I need to keep iTunes set to: "Manually Manage Songs & Playlists" mode when 2 iPods are sharing the same computer & iTunes.
Another reason I don't want to run iTunes in "Automacally Update Songs" mode is that I don't want to waste precious little space on my computer HD space for just a duplicate of what's on the iPod, both photos & Mp3s. For data security though, I routinely backup all iPod files to DVD.
My Question: I realize that the only way to get photos into an iPod Photo unit is via iTunes, but can this accomplished with iTunes in: "Manually Manage" mode, or must iTunes be in "Automatically Update Songs" (sync) mode?
