for those that have the new ipod. track change question

This has probably been discussed before, and I tried searching but there is no real easy way to search for this topic so here goes:

I was playing around with the 4th gen ipod's in best buy the other day and something occured to me. It seemed to me that the new ipod's don't have the track change problem where you select a song and it gets confused and skips to the next song. Is this the case?

I know many have the problem if selecting a song and it skipping to the next on the playlist because it can't cache fast enough. To clear things up a little, im asking if the new ipod's with the click buttons have this problem. Thanks

I have a 4G... i dont seem to have the problem...
...but i'm not sure what you meant....

- you have a playlist with some tracks
- you select track 1
- you skip from track 1 to track 2
- but it goes to track 3 instead?

that doesnt seem to happen....with mine....(if i got you right)

yeah you got it right pretty much. I do large playlists at a time and when i go to select a song it will stall a second often times and go to some other song. It gets really annoying it happens about 3/5 times. Best buy ipod didn't seem to have this problem.

If you mean selecting a song from a list with the cursor bar and the ipod still playing the wrong song I have NO idea, I have not seen that in gen 3-5...

If you mean does the ipod still hang up and slow down while skipping through songs, yes, while the disk is spinning or album art is in the process of being displayed it will jump through songs without you seeing them as you press forward through several songs.

Yes, I have had that problem a few times, though I thought I just hit the click wheel twice or something. I will select a song in a playlist, say song 1 of 15, a few seconds later I hear a different song playing, look down at the pod and it says 2 of 15, like it just ignored the song I selected and went right to the second song.

It has only happened about 5 times in the 2 months I have had my ipod (4g 20gb), and I thought I was crazy, or hit the button twice or something, but I guess that is a glitch, huh.

ya but it sounds like it happens way more frequently on the older ipod's
