hey, i have the 4g 20 gb ipod and well, i have this problem

i dont know how it started, maybe it dropped but it seemed to have happened when i was playing around with winamps ml_ipod plugin.
regardless, none of apples fixes seem to work, i cant go in disk mode, i cant get into any UI past the apple logo on reboot, after that no matter what i get that folder in the support link.
even if it's plugged into a home outlet.
windows recoknized the ipod though, and i can explore it, i've also tried reformating/restoring a number of times, it's recognized but it doesn't actually work
i'm not sure whether i should send it in or not, can you give me input/past problems, or any help?
