photo iPod case in the box?

I'm going to get a photo iPod and I read on Apple's website that the device come with a case. Can someone tell me more about this case? Is it more of a carrying or protective case? A pic would actually really great.

If you think this case is not that good could you recommend a third-party case? I'm actually not sure those exist yet...

well, to help you out the case is only really a bag to carry it in, I don't believe it would provide much protection beyond keeping it clean. At some point when the cases are released for the ipod photo I think you're probably still going to want to get one of those to give it more protection, hope that helps :)

Now, does anyone know what companies plan to release cases for the photo iPod first?

Just wondering how the people who got that $500 iPod can survive carrying it without protection for now. Or maybe they just leave it at home because they can't take the TV attached to it with them anyway :)

Cases should start to become available the first week of December most likely.

Actually it comes with the little black bag AND the same slide in case with belt clip that was with gen 3...I am trying to strech mine out some because it is too small and scratched my ipod right away from sliding in and out...

I bought a generic case at the apple store, belt loop, full closure, super soft interior, $20, it is probably my faveorite case, vs. iskins and leather flip open cases.

I want to order a vaja custom case, $70 built special for ipods, and I assume the extra girth of the 60 gig, 3 weeks to delivery...

just cheked the generc case from apple is made by timbuck2 or something like that :)
