A minor but still irritating problem occurs every so often after about a minute of turning on my iPod (15Gb). The music stops and the iPod turns off. When I touch the "Play/Pause" button again the music starts and continues without problem until I choose to turn it off.
At first I thought I had turned on the sleep timer but after checking I find that it is off. What could cause this to happen.
It is an intermittent failure.

Hey, I am getting this too, anyone else suffer form this problem?
Did you pause the music and then it slept? Because this is a feature.
But otherwise, its a fault, and you should get it repaired/replaced.
And no, I do not get this problem lazerbase....

No, it's actually playing when it stops. Similarly, it's always about a minute into a song after turning it on.
It's as if the sleep is kicking in regardless of whether it's paused or not.

Same here. It seems like it started happening more accurately and oftenly since I updated to firmware 2.1. I think I'll be sending a message to Apple. I wouldn't really want to have to go through a Repair/Replace hassle!

I've had a couple crashes since going to 2.1, and I NEVER had any on 2.0.1.
Once it just reset itself to the Apple logo in the middle of a song, and it just now stopped playing, and stopped responding-- I had to reset it manually.
Haven't had it just simply "turn off" though... Hmm.
