Hi

Used to have a 3G 20gig ipod and never had any problems using ipodagent to copy songs off it onto my pc.

I've upgraded now to a 4G 20gig and am finding that whenever I try and copy songs off it, using either Ipodagent or Ipod Music Liberator the software will transfer 10 songs and then on the 11th one the ipod will crash and the software returns an access error. The ipod then requires a hard reset.

I'm running windows XP Home SP2 with the ipod docked through firewire. It must be an ipod problem because I've also got my wife's Mini hooked up on the same PC (USB2) and that will quite happily let me copy all it's songs off it....

I've also noticed that when uploading songs from the iTunes library the transfer will sometimes pause on a song for about 20secs before resuming the transfer. It also sometimes does an upload, shows all the songs as uploaded on the iPod but then when you undock the ipod and try and play the songs you can't; the track info is there but no actual music file....

I'm suspecting I need to get all my music off it (10 songs at a time !!) and then reformat/start again.

Final random question - why does the iTunes info bar (at the bottom) show 16.31Gb used, 2.25Gb free and then directly below that it says 3042 songs, 7.7 days, 10.43Gb??? Which one is correct?

Any ideas - sorry for so many Qs at once!
