i am currently in the market for an ipod, but i cant decide if i should get an apple or hp. the only differences that matter to me are the support/warranty and the formatting. i've heard that the hp has better support, is this true? also: does it make a difference that the apple is formatted for mac ?(i'm on a pc)
thanks.

um.. Not really.. All I know is with my apple Ipod when I installed it I installed on a pc.. Now I'm getting a powerbook so all I have to do is to open my ipod updater and click restroe and it restores back to factory settings and stuff. Although if you formatt a hp ipod to work with mac's if thats possible.. then i don't think the service will be the same with hp because hp is with windows.. If that made anysense it should be somewhat helpful

The format makes NO difference at all. Don't even consider that part.

I have heard that HP has better service/warranty.

all you would need to do is run the disc that comes with the ipod in the computer with the OS of your choice and it'll format the ipod with not trouble, hope that helps :)
