well i restored the ipod with the apple software and put my music back on it, well some of it, and about 20 min later i put the ipod back in the dock it rebooted without me doing ANYTHING, my playlists were gone and my music was still there, but it deleted all my playlists, which REALLY ####ES ME OFF!!!!! This is the 3rd time i have had issues like this and i can't get 2 the bottom of it, cause it doesn't do it at one certain time, or under certain circumstances, because i have literally spent hours trying 2 reproduce the problem, so that i could call apple support or anapod support, but i can't get it 2 do it enough 2 figure out the EXACT problem, has anyone had this problem at all.. If you have, please speak up, im about 2 the point of taking my ipod back and saying screw mp3 players for right now.. i was an owner of the original RIO which had very little memory and so i waited for years before i bought another one, now i have this 20gb ipod and its screwing up.. me = not happy..

Does this happen if you plug the USB or FireWire cable directly into your iPod?
Also, you might check the Windows system logs (under Administrative Tools) to see if there is anything wierd on the USB bus.
