putting music from windows ipod onto a mac!

i did do a search of forums but it just bought up error pages when i tried.

at the mo i have a windows formated 3g ipod, which has all my music on. i am hoping to get an ibook soon whih i want to transfer my music onto from my mac. so now my questions.

1.can i transfer my music from a windows formated ipod to a mac?

2.if i was to start using my ibook as the main computer to put music onto my ipod, would i need to restore the ipod and format to the mac?

3. has anyone done what i want to do and had any problems?

i found out that i can put my music on a mac, would it be best to resotre my ipod and format it as a mac one, as i would be installing most music on that and then putting it onto ipod that way??
