a noob's quick question..

how do i move songs around, or rearrange tracks in itunes? when i've imported tracks from cd's and such, the tracks are sometime imported out of order, i really hate having tracks out of order, and the simple click-and-drag doesnt work. pleeease help a poor obsessive compulsive noob!

in the main library, you have to fill in the track number in each song's ID3 tag. As long as all the other tags for the album are the same (Artist, Album, Genre, etc.) then the songs will be sorted by track number.

If you want them in the correct order on your menus when you scroll, you'll need to edit the tags. If you only use playlists and don't care about the menus, then you can arrange them however you like on the playlist, right click on your playlist in iTunes, and click copy to play order (while your iPod is connected). This will give the corresponding playlist on your iPod the order you specified in those iTunes playlists.
