Ipod Stopped being recognised

Hi,

I'm hoping you all don't confirm my worst fears here.

I've had my Ipod for just under 1 year now and everything has been fine. Today however I bought a firewire card and put it into my main PC (previously the Ipod was sync'd using my fileserver).

Installed the card OK, connected the Ipod and nothing, Ipod is charging but not recognised. After messing about for over 2 hours I put the Ipod back onto my server, again the ipod is not recognised :(. I have reset the Ipod, reinstalled software, etc.

Can anybody help - the Ipod still plays OK.

What brand firewire card did you get? Here are some recommended cards from Apple (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93405).
