1st & 5th Gen-How to sync both the same?

I have a 1st generation ipod that uses MusicMatch and I recently bought a new ipod (20gig). However, I read on this site why Music Match doesn't work now and how you should restore. But restoring erases everything. Basically, can I update my old ipod via iTunes? I just want both ipods to have the same music on them. How do I do that?

Both iPods should work just fine with iTunes. Just make sure the 1G iPod has firmware 1.4- the latest that's been released.

your 20 gig is actually a 4th Gen. there is no such thing as the 5th gen yet.
