Has anybody tried putting an animated GIF on the iPod and seeing if it will run? If you have tell us the results.

Omg, that is what I was thinking.
If an iPod photo can run an Animated gif, why not a movie?

Not sure, but I do know it's iPod Photo.. iPhoto is the software in OS X that lets you store, view, and manage your digital photos... ;)

Still even if it did... Exactly how much joy would you get out of an animated .gif on a 2" screen.. I could understand in an avatar, but an iPod?

I haven't tried it yet, but I can almost guarantee it only shows the first frame of the gif. It would have been note-worthy if the ipod photo supported it, and I've heard nothing about such support.

Export the GIF as multiple frames and shuffle through with the wheel. That's probably all you'll get.

I'll get an exercise book and make animated stick man drawings if it is all the same :)

Is it possible to resize/resample animated images?

It only shows the first frame.
