Plugging in iPOD to Belkin USB2 PCMCIA card makes iPOD lose charge?

My iPOD connects fine to my Belkin USB2 PCMCIA card.

However although the iPOD indicates that it is being charged through the Belkin USB2 port, in reality the iPOD seems to lose charge.

This happens whether I connect the power supply to the Belkin USB2 card or not.

Anybody else had a similar problem?

Anybody successfully charging their iPOD through the Belkin PCMCIA card?

i bought the damn belkin usb 2 card because my tibook (powerbook) doesnt have usb 2 and apple punkd us by not including firewire on the new 5g.

i tried it yesterday and had the same result s you did. i went to take my ipod with me this morning after a long charge and BOOM i saw it was dead !!!!

any help is appreciated here. right now i am tranfering files via usb 2 and charging via firewire. STUPID !!!!!!!!!
