Hey, unlike many ppl, who want to listen to their iPods on full blast, I want to put a cap on mine, say, around 65- 70%... I listen to it, mostly, when alone at 1-5%... And when surrounded in a work environment, at 50%, and in heavy noise, 55-60%, though rarely that high.

I've searched and searched, and have found how to lift the restriction of how high it can go, but I want to place a limit on how high it can go. I'd appreciate some l33tn3ss... Can anyone shed some light here? Whether this is a hack, mod, etc...

DONT FLAME on how lame my idea is, or that I'm stupid cuz my ears are in better condition than yours, or what not.

Thanks a lot. In advance. Do post. :)

I believe there is no way of setting a cap through the iPod but one suggestion is to normalize your music. I'm not sure about other types of music but with MP3s you can normalize the peaks of mp3s with MP3Gain.

heres a link: http://www.geocities.com/mp3gain/

hopefully that will help. good luck

Oh for more info on this check out this thread: http://ipodlounge.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=38708

Thanks though.

My mp3's dont have that normalization problem... The problem comes with accidental slips of fingers in the pocket, etc... Resulting in insane sound levels...

But due to the I was sort of expecting some kind of hex edit or whatever, like many ppl kicked up with the EU volume cap. If there isn't a custom solution, would it be possible for me to edit some stuff to place the EU (or UK?) volume cap on my US iPod?

Thanks, again.
