I have a Compaq Presario 1200XL laptop and I recently upgraded from ME to Windows XP Professional. During the initial upgrade my Ipod worked fine with my CompUsa USB v2.0 Cardbus made by ALi. But I needed to reinstall the OS another time because of a virus and now my Ipod doesn't work with the USB 2.0 card but works with the 1.1 port. The card recognizes that a USB Mass Storage Device is connected, the Ipod's battery recharges but I get a Code 10 "This device cannot start." It's not the Ipod because I've connected it to USB 2.0 ports on other computers and it works fine. And my USB 2.0 card works fine with other devices, like mice and an external CD burner. I have tried reinstalling the OS a few times and get the same result. Is there any way to fix this?

Go to my computer and right click, select manage>device hardware and look at the universal serial bus controllers. If you have a disk with the drivers on it, put it in the CD drive and right click on the USB drivers, click 'update drivers'. Do this for each one listed. You need to make sure the drivers have also been updated.

Also look for any '?' in yellow. If you see them then that item needs to have the drivers updated.
