Reset - does it clear the iPod ?

Folks,

Having some suspicious behaviour in my week-old 15Gb UK iPod (Windows format). Battery "power" seems pretty low, just now it seemed to turn itself off for no reason (even with "hold" in place) and yesterday while i was trying to skip between tracks it skipped several (as if I was holding the "Next" button down, which I wasn't doing).

Was wondering if the magic "Reset" might help, but didn't want to blitz the device in the process. What does "Reset" actually do ?

Reset is OK

you will still have your songs on afterwards.

It is only if you use the updater again that it clears the songs

try it and see
